Greg and Dan at Moose Cycles, 48 High Street, Colliers Wood, London SW19 2BY (phone 0208 544 9166) gave me a lot of help and advice getting my bike and kit ready for my trip. Gentlemen, thank you both very much.

Had a brilliant three-week bike trip in Peru in 2003 organised by Dermot, Eduardo and Eduardo II of Redspokes that sowed the seeds of inspiration for this current trip.

If I had known that you can order Goodlife's vegetarian nut cutlets on-line I would not have experienced Kairos in Balham. Life is strange but Goodlife's nut cutlets are a delicious mix of peanuts, almonds and hazlenuts combined with vegetables, mixed herbs and a hint of garlic. Yum yum. I really recommend that you give them a go.

Iris and Tore are a Dutch couple who have built a very good website designed for cyclists. Their site includes detailed descriptions and handrawn maps. Alain and I (and many others) used these maps when we went "off-piste" to travel over the Jama Pass in northern Argentina into southern Bolivia (via Chile).

Cycletourer.co.uk is a website with lots of information, including by a strange coincidence a link to this site, on cycle touring.

Check out Clive's website! Clive cycled from Mexico to Panama a 7,000 km trip. He has also written a book also called "Pedalling to Panama".

Tania and her partner Gwendal did a very similar ride to me a couple of years ago. We met briefly in Vancouver. They have made a film about it. It looks great. A trailer and details about the film is on the link below.

I met Kurt and Darina in Argentina. They have ridden all over the place and have a very cool site. When they were cycling through Costa Rica they decided to get married on the beach. Which is obviously in my book is just about as romantic as it gets.

I met Hirsch from the US in Bolivia. Huge beard and a bob trailer. He was heading down to Argentina and I think just plans to keep to keep going.

Alex is going to cycle across Kazakstan in July 2008. Kazakstan is the size of Western Europe with a population of 17 million so he is going to be on his own for long stretches I guess. I have lent him the Bob trailer I used on my trip. Check out his site and make sure you sponsor him too!!! Good luck Alex

Vintage Phoenix is an environmentally friendly boutique clothes shop. At Vintage Phoenix they love fabric and believe that often the best is vintage textile so they like to reclaim, salvage, re-use, re-structure whatever it takes which happily, because they also care, makes them eco-friendly and gives them a quirky eclectic appeal. It also means that their clothes and accessories are unique individual pieces of wearable art. The link to their website below gives a glimpse of what can be found in the shop, happy hunting.
